Who is this potato?
When in doubt, just keep talking
It’s happens to us all when we can’t quite place the potato.
I’ve had similar scenarios twice since drawing this comic, disappointingly not with potatoes but only this morning I could see the mini panic in someones face trying to work out who I was when I was talking to them. So I stopped to say my name and the context that we knew each other. Maybe that could become a thing, that would be handy.
This is Fluffy’s latest write up on Instagram where he asks Jay from the corner shop how he knows what to say to people he doesn’t know.
I think Fluffy is realising that once you start talking to people you quickly find out that everyone has a story of some kind and there’s something to be learned from everyone. If you haven’t seen his graphic novel that we wrote together, it is available online and in good bookshops and libraries (please do ask for it in your library).
It’s available signed with a drawing from my shop and I’m including a free little game called Quick! Put the Kettle On with all shop orders too. Anything bought from the shop really helps me to create more work and I very much appreciate it.
And lastly, if you’d like to hear me chatting about my work on a Maltese radio show, my lovely cousin Angele Galea interviewed me. You can hear her introduce the show in Maltese to begin with and the rest is in English. We were both wearing light pink jumpers that day, must have been a cousin thing.
That’s all for now. Thank you for reading and hope that you have a good week,
Simone

I have so many potato encounters!
Fascinating interview. I enjoyed hearing about your artistic background as well as Fluffy's. Keep brightening Brockley!
